2025 : Jigawa LGSC Promotes 1,682 Staff, As 1,332 Retired, 155 Died

No fewer than 1,682 staffs from Jigawa State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) have been promoted to next rank across the state in the year 2025.

However the commission announced the retirement of 1,332 Staff while about 155 lost their lives during the year under review.

The executive chairman of the commission Alhaji Uba B. Ringim confirmed the figures while briefing news men on the achievements of the commission during the year under review, held at Commission’s conference hall in Dutse.

He explained that, the mandate of the commission include appointments, promotion and discipline of local government staff, capacity building and manpower development, posting and deployment of senior personnel as well as ensuring compliance with civil service rules and established guidelines.

The executive chairman maintained that, 569 staff are promoted from Jigawa central, 624 from Jigawa North-West while 489 staff are from Jigawa North-East senatorial zone.

While speaking on retirement, he explained that,  from local government council about 628 staffs retired, while from Local Education Authority (LEA) about 704 staffs retired during the year under review.

According to him, in the same year of 2025, about 72 local government council staffs lost their lives while a number of 83 Local Education Authority (and LEA) staffs lost their lives in 2025.

He identified delays in promotion exercises, poor records management, Inadequate manpower and limited capacity to handle increasing volumes of promotion and disciplinary matters limited training opportunities in modern personnel and human resource management practices.

The executive secretary then, commended governor Malam Umar Namadi for his support to commission, permanent commissioners, and entire Staff of the commission.
