The Adamawa state Chapter of the People’s Democratic party(PDP) has inaugurated party caretaker committee for the twenty one (21) local government areas in the state.
Also inaugurated are twenty one (21) caretaker Secretaries and sixty three (63) ex-officio with three (3) members for each local council to handle the affairs of the party before the conduct of election as enshrined in the PDP party’s constitution.
Administering the oath of office to the new officials, Barrister John Tunoh charge the interim committee to adhere to the provisions of the party’s and national constitutions as enshrined in the schedule 2 of the constitution.
In his remarks at the event in Yola Tuesday, State interim chairman of the party, Engr. Belmont Dogo noted that the selection of the caretaker committee members was a clear demonstration of the confidence the party leadership has in the new officials.
Dogo told them that, the strength of any political party lies in its structure at the grassroots advocating that “As local government caretaker committee members, you represent the engine room of the party in your respective areas”.
Dogo urge them to work together with all party stakeholders at the ward and local government levels to ensure peace,unity, and cooperation with in the party.
“Let us avoid divisions and personal interests that may weaken our collective strength.
“It is your responsibility to help reposition the party, rebuild confidence among our members, and prepare the ground for future successes in the upcoming political activities and elections in particular”.Dogo added.
The chairman directed the committee to liase with stakeholders for nomination of delegate from their various councils for the forthcoming national convention of the party.
Responding on behalf of the caretaker committee, party caretaker chairman of Fufore LG Hon.Inuwa Umar expressed gratitude for the responsibility repose on them pledging to contribute to the development of the party.
Umar charged his colleagues to ensure absolute loyalty and the strength to work for the success of the party in all elections noting that team work would accord them to achieve the desired goals in the political struggle.
