From Umar Dankano, Yola
The Congress committee of the African Democratic Congress party has said that the party’s Congress for polling units, wards and local government is ongoing in Adamawa state.
Chairman of the Congress, General Ishaya Bauka disclosed the development at a press conference in Yola Thursday stressing that the speculation being peddles of a court order halting the process remains an academic exercise.

Recall that High court No 6 in Yola had earlier issued a restraining order urging the party to maintain status quo pending the determination of the case fixing the 15th for commencement of hearing in the suit filed the state chairman of the party, Comrade Shehu Yohanna.
General Bauka declared that his committee has not received any court order talk less of claiming to have stopped the conduct of the party’s Congresses for Adamawa state .
“The ADC Congress has commenced across the country including Adamawa state because is a process which is on and will continue till tomorrow.

“As per as my committee is concerned, we have not received any court order stopping our Congresses and the process has started until tomorrow when results would be collected”.Bauka declared.
Reacting to the development, chairman of the party, Shehu Yohanna insisted that the court has ruled that the process must stop and that status quo should be maintained until after the determination of the matter on the 15th April 2027.
Yohanna accused some stakeholders of the party for injustice and undemocratic approach been used to conduct the ward and local council congresses decrying that no one involved him in the process.
Yohanna alleged that the committee has already doctored a prepared list for those to be declare as winners in the yet to be conducted congresses which we are challenging so that the party’s constitution can be adhered to squarely.
” This committee didn’t tell us the time, venue and timetable of the Congress and we supposed to do everything in the state party Secretariat but they sneaked in to hotel claiming to be conducting congresses.
” We are all out to challenge this impunity as we called on our members to calm and law abiding. We are ready to fight this injustice done to us because the party is supreme than anyone “. Yohanna fumes.
