ALGON Lauds Jigawa First lady On Fight against HIV, Hepatitis others

The ALGON Chairman Jigawa chapter,  Dr Sibu Abdullahi, has commended the first lady of Jigawa state Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi for tireless efforts in fight against HIV, Hepatitis and Syphilis in Jigawa state.

Dr Sibu who is also the Chairman of Dutse Local Governmentmade the commendation during the launch of “FREE TO SHINE” campaign initiated by the firs lady.

He also thanked Governor of Jigawa State, for providing effective and efficient services to the entire state.

The ALGON Chairman promised to do all his best to ensure that, the respective wives of the local government chairmen would campaign and sensitize communities in their respective wards on this program. 

“Dutse Local Government is committed to providing mattresses as a contribution to the patients’ bedding in Dutse General Hospital”, Dr Sibu said.

Speaking during event, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi said, the program, aimed at enlightening women on HIV, hepatitis, and syphilis, with a focus on preventing mother-to-child transmission, is championed by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

According to her, the nationwide initiative, is in collaboration with the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), seeks to achieve the triple elimination of these diseases by raising awareness, mobilizing communities, and ensuring access to testing and treatment for women and children.
