Defence Minister Badaru Attends BAMEX 2025 In Mali, VisitsPrime Minister Maiga

The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, is in Bamako, Mali today Thursday 13th November 2025, to attend the maiden International Defence and Security Exhibition (BAMEX 2025).

This was contained in a statement signed by Personal Assistance on Media and Publicity to the minister, Alhaji Mati Ali and made it available to news men.

Upon his arrival at the Military Wing of Bamako International Airport, His Excellency was warmly received by the Malian Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, General Sadio Camara, alongside senior Malian military officials. A colourful parade by the Malian Armed Forces added grandeur to the welcome ceremony.

In the course of his visit, the Nigerian Defence Minister paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Mali, General Abdoulaye Maiga, at his office in Bamako. He was accompanied by the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Director of Operations at Defence Headquarters, and officials of the Nigerian Embassy in Mali. Also in attendance were the Malian Defence Minister and other senior military officers.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Maiga expressed deep appreciation for the Minister’s visit and for Nigeria’s participation in BAMEX 2025, describing it as a testament to the long-standing friendship and cooperation between both nations.

In his remarks, Minister Badaru conveyed the warm greetings and goodwill of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to the Government and people of Mali. He commended the Malian authorities for the warm reception accorded to him and reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing defence collaboration, and working closely with Mali to address shared security challenges in the region.

BAMEX 2025 serves as a vital platform for African nations and international partners to engage in dialogue, showcase innovations in defence technology, and foster partnerships aimed at addressing continent.
