The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Prof. Muhammed Khalid Uthman, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving staff welfare and promoting career development, describing both as central to the institution’s strategic direction.
Prof. Uthman gave the assurance during an interactive session with members of the university’s health workforce, comprising doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists, and other allied health professionals.
The meeting, which was held at the university’s campus, provided a platform for open engagement, enabling staff to raise concerns and offer practical suggestions aimed at enhancing healthcare service delivery within the university community.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that staff welfare and professional advancement remain key pillars of his agenda, noting that a motivated workforce is critical to achieving excellence in service delivery and institutional growth.
He assured the health personnel that the university management would continue to prioritise initiatives that support their well-being, improve working conditions, and create opportunities for continuous training and career progression.
Prof. Uthman also commended the health workers for their dedication and resilience in providing essential services, often under challenging conditions, and pledged sustained support to strengthen the university’s health system.
Earlier, some of the participants highlighted pressing issues affecting their performance, including the need for improved facilities, access to modern equipment, and enhanced capacity-building programmes.
They expressed optimism that the engagement would translate into concrete actions that would address their concerns and ultimately improve the quality of healthcare services offered by the institution.
The interactive session forms part of the Vice Chancellor’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusive governance and strengthen collaboration between the university management and its workforce.
