Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has commissioned a newly constructed multi-million Naira grains market in Hong, aimed at boosting commercial activities and enhancing economic growth in the area.
Governor Fintiri who in Hong to grace the one year anniversary of the paramount ruler of Hong, Tol-huba on the throne expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders for the fatherly roles they are playing in maintaining peace and harmony in their domains.
Fintiri also announced plans for the construction of six kilometres of road and the extension of electricity to communities in Hong Local Government Area assuring that the road project, alongside a new Science and Technology Secondary School would be completed and commissioned before the end of 2026.
Fintiri further revealed that his administration would revitalize the water supply system to ensure improved access to potable water for residents pledging to support the Huba development plan with N100,000,000.
Chairman of the occasion and immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha while delivering his address said the Huba people had long maintained an organized institutional structure before colonial realignments.
Mustapha described the creation of the chiefdom as a formal recognition of their heritage and commended Governor Fintiri for restoring institutional dignity.
Earlier his remarks, the celebrant, and Tol Huba, Chief Dr. Alheri Bulus Nyako extolled Governor Fintiri as a hero who restored honor and pride after over a century.
As mark of respect and honor for the contributions in making Huba people proud, the paramount ruler bestowed a traditional tittle of the chiefdom tagged “The second Midala Huba tittle on Governor Fintiri for as a of appreciation of his contributions to the Huba people.
Other highlights of the ceremony were presentation of a certificate confirming traditional titles on those who made the list including the governor and the official launch of the Huba Development Action Plan, and colourful processions by districts within the chiefdom.
