The Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Mal. (Dr.) Umar A. Namadi, FCA, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue supporting local government chairmen for grassroots development of Jigawa Youths.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media, Hajiya Zainab Shu’aibu Rabo and made it available to news men.
The statement said, Governor Namadi made this pledge during his official visit to Taura Local Government Area, where he launched the Taura Mega Empowerment Programme initiated by the Chairman of Taura Local Government, Hon. Shuaibu Hambali Zarga.
He commended Hon. Zarga for demonstrating purposeful leadership through the introduction of an empowerment programme aimed at improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of Taura, describing the initiative as fully aligned with the development vision of the state and federal government.
According to him, the Twelve-Point Agenda initiated by his administration is aimed to improve the lives of Jigawa State citizens, with special focus on youths, women, and children.
He maintained that, the establishment of the Jigawa State Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency (JSYEEA), which serves as a strategic platform for job creation, skills development, and economic inclusion.
“In line with our Twelve-Point Agenda, we are determined to create opportunities that will empower our youths and women, reduce unemployment, and promote self-reliance across the state,” the Governor stated.
Governor Namadi further announced that the Jigawa State Government will soon empower another 1,000 beneficiaries in each of the 27 local government areas through the state’s Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency.
He also disclosed that over 500 youths have already been gainfully employed through ongoing state-led empowerment interventions.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner and support all local government councils that prioritize transparency, accountability, and people-oriented programmes, noting that meaningful development can only be achieved through effective collaboration between the state and local governments.
The Taura Mega Empowerment Programme is expected to significantly contribute to poverty reduction, youth empowerment, and sustainable development in the local government area, while complementing the broader developmental efforts of the Jigawa State Government.
