The Jigawa State government through ministry of Women affairs has presented an award of excellence to a veteran journalist Hajiya Zainab Shu’aibu Rabo for her hardworking towards protecting and promoting the children and women.
Speaking during the award Presentation, the State commissioner of Women affairs Hajiya Hadiza Abdulwahab explained that, the award isn in recognition of Hajiya Zainab’s tireless hardworking towards supporting women and children development.

“We are presenting this award of excellence to Hajiya Zainab Shu’aibu Rabo, as a female veteran journalist who is always committed to the development of women and children in Jigawa and the North in general”, she said.
The Commissioner who described Hajiya Zainab as a professional journalist with a zeal of putting women and children into smile, said Jigawa people will never forget her contributions.


She then urged other journalists to emulate her for better development of women and children in Jigawa and the country at large.
While responding after receiving the award, Hajiya Zainab said, the award given to her is sign of success and reward of hardworking adding that, the award is not for her alone but the entire working journalist in the state.
The veteran journalist who urged working journalist to exhibit professionalism in their work said, Freedom of expression as enshrined in the Nigeria’s constitution does not mean freedom of intimidation.

She also expressed concerns on younger media practitioners, urging media houses to embark on training and retraining of staffs to boost their skills and fit to modern global standard of journalism.
Hajiya Zainab also Commended governor Malam Umar Namadi for his support to journalists, urging the journalists to support his administration for better Jigawa State.
