The Jigawa Civil Society Partnership for Health (JICOPH) has commended Jigawa state Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi, for his administration’s landmark approval to expand free and equitable healthcare services across the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman Jigawa Civil Society Partnership for Health (JICOPH) Comrade Musa Mu’az and made it available to news men.
The statement highlighted some of the Laudable milestone including the approval of ₦121.95 million for 3 months extension of Free MNCH Services in 271 additional PHCs across the 27 LGAs, benefiting pregnant women, children under 5, and accident victims.
Other approval are released of ₦1 billion State Equity Fund to sustain healthcare for 287,000 vulnerable beneficiaries, with enrolment increased from 500 to 1,000 persons per ward under the J-Basic Healthcare Programme.
The statement then urged citizens, Ward Development Committees (WDCs), and Facility Health Committees (FHCs) to ensure that every enrolled citizen truly accesses the required services without hindrance.
JICOPH also called on Special assistant to the Governor on Health Monitoring support WDCs to ensure only eligible citizens are enrolled
Support facility staff to provide the best possible care and ensure that all enrollees are covered.
The statement also urged them to create awareness on addressing moral hazards and poor attitudes among some health workers, which remain key barriers to effective service delivery.
“As civil society, JICOPH reaffirms its readiness to partner with the government and communities to ensure accountability, equity, and universal health coverage for all”, the statement said.
