Jigawa APC Crisis Deepens as Defence Minister’s supporters escapes lynches

It was gathered that,  one of the APC chieftain in Kafin Hausa local government area, Alhaji Zakari Sidi Kafin Hausa organized a political gathering on Sunday at Kafin Hausa town in support of President Bola Tinubu and youth awareness for APC lead administration where thousands of people mostly youth converged.

Alhaji Zakari Sidi Kafin Hausa who delivered his speech at the gathering said, that the gathering was meant to declare support for President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, ahead of the 2027 general elections”.  

He explained that, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserved a second term starting in 2027 in order to continue with several developmental policies and programs which are cutting across all parts of the country.

The APC chieftain maintained that “Nigeria is lucky for having president Bola Tinubu at this critical time that needs boldness, experience and popularity. President Tinubu has it all, a reason for the present economic and Infrastructural positive changes”

Mr. Kafin Hausa noted that the president Bola Tinubu’s initiative and insisting on the full implementation of local government autonomy, Nigerian Education Loan Fond (NELFUND) and several Youth economic empowerment projects

It was observed that towards the conclusion of the event some political thugs allegedly suspected to be supporters of other faction, stormed the venue and disrupted the gatherings where many people including innocent passerbys and neighbors of the place injured.

The event attended by the National Financial Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bashir Gumel, took place at the Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State. 

Politicians at the event, who are mostly officials who served under the former Governor Badaru, who is now the Minister of Defence, commended the Kafin-Hausa community for honouring Alhaji Sidi for his philanthropic activities across the state.  

Alhaji Sidi told newsmen after the event that the gathering was also meant to declare support for President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, ahead of the 2027 general elections but intruders later invaded the venue with arms, attacking people.  

Mr Sidi Kafin-Hausa said members of the APC and supporters of the Minister of Defence who are working vigorously for the success of President Tinubu in the 2027 election gathered in Kafin-Hausa town in solidarity for the twin event. 

“The sponsored hoodlums’ attack came after the dignitaries had left the venue. Initially, the event was supposed to be held on Saturday but was rescheduled to Sunday, to avoid confrontation, yet they attacked our supporters, injuring many innocent people and vandalising their properties, Alhaji Sidi lamented. 

The police spokesperson in Jigawa, Lawan Shiisu Adam, cannot be reached to speak on the development; his phone contacts didn’t connect Sunday evening.

Former and serving officials who attended the event include members of the state House of Assembly, from Hadejia, Gagarawa and Babura and 14 former local government chairmen, including former ALGON chair Bala Usman Chamo.
