The internal crisis in Jigawa state chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) has took another dimensions, as new factional group emerged, with name Coalition of APC Support Groups Jigawa State, condemning the actions of National Financial Secretary of the Party.
The Condemnation of the National executive member of the Party was made by the Chairman of the Coalition group, Engineer Sa’idu Ibrahim Uba while addressing news men in reaction to what he described as inciting, inflammatory and derogatory statement against the state governor Malam Umar Namadi at the political gathering held on Sunday in Kafin Hausa.
He explained that, the group gathered news men, on a matter of grave concern, which threatens the peace, unity, and cohesion of their great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly in Jigawa State.
“This briefing is to formally condemn the recent conduct of one of our party’s national officers, Alhaji Bashir Usman Gumel, who currently serves as the National Financial Secretary of the APC”, he said.
According to him, on Saturday, 31st August 2025, Mr. Bashir Usman Gumel was seen attending and actively participating in an unauthorized political gathering in Kafin-Hausa Town, Jigawa State.
“This gathering was not sanctioned by the party, and it was organized by disgruntled individuals—including elements from the opposition party—under the guise of celebrating an award for one Zakari Kafin-Hausa.
“Inciting, inflammatory, and derogatory statements were made against the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, FCA, and the entire state party leadership” , Uba said.
He also accused Mr. Gumel for openly pledged allegiance to an individual rather than to the APC as an institution, adding that the national exco’s utterances and presence provoked unrest, leading to chaos, injuries to innocent citizens, and destruction of properties.
“While this illegal assembly took place, the entire state leadership of the APC, under His Excellency Governor Umar Namadi, was engaged in a people-centered outreach in Kaugama Local Government Area as part of the widely endorsed “Government and Her Citizens Engagement Programme.”
The group also accused “Mr Gumel for violations of Party Constitution and breaches of the APC Constitution – Article 21 A (vi), (vii), and (x), which deal with: engaging in acts capable of bringing the party into disrepute, disobedience to lawful directives, Disrespect to party leadership and promotion of factionalism”, he quoted.
The Coalition chairman, condemned the action of Bashir Usman Gumel, and described him as unbefitting of a national party officer and called on the National Leadership of the APC to immediately investigate these anti-party activities.
