No fewer than 792 supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Birnin Kudu Local government area of Jigawa State.
The Decampees whom were women from various communities said, the y decided to join the ruling party to support governor Namadi’s efforts of rebranding Jigawa to compete with other states in the country.
Speaking shortly after receiving the decampees, the wife of the Governor, Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, congratulated the women and assured them that the APC doors remain open to all who wish to join the movement for the state’s development.
She explained that, the present administration in the state introduced many programs aimed at improving the lives of women and children.
Dr Amina then, urged the Decampees to support the governor Namadi’s twelve points agenda for better Jigawa state.
While making his remarks, Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, said the Umar Namadi-led administration is committed to improving the lives of ordinary citizens, noting that the governor has excelled among his counterparts in delivering the dividends of democracy.
The event, hosted by Birnin Kudu LG Chairman, Dr. Muhammed Uba Builder, also featured remarks from APC leaders including Zonal Chairman Yahaya Ahali Sakwaya and the APC Women Leader. Dr. Amina was accompanied by wives of top government officials and other party stalwarts.
