The Jigawa state commissioner of Police, Mr Dahiru Muhammad said the command arrested 2 Kidnap Kingpins and 156 others criminals suspect on different offenses on the month of August.
CP Dahiru Muhammad made the promise while receiving the members of Correspondent’s Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalist in the state under chairmanship of Comrade Muhammad Zangina when paid him a courtesy visit in his office, he promised prioritize Intelligence Gathering, Community Policing for Effective Security for the state to remains most peaceful in the country.
The police commissioner to emphasize training and retraining of personal Criminal Investigation and Legal departments of the to ensure proper and effective investigation and prosecutions of criminals by the command.
Mr Dahiru Muhammad explained that “apart from tracing and arresting criminals, proper investigation to get all necessary evidences and exhibits is very important when the suspects is arraigns in the court of law”.
According to him “another important duty is to prosecutes the suspects in the courts of the crime jurisdiction and ensure the criminals has been convicted according to their offenses. This would not achieve until police has capable legal personal of the legal department”.
The Police Boss noted that the police under his watch would ensure no criminal go free when arrested. “When a criminal arrested and prosecuted but go free there is every tendency for him/her to go back and continues commuting the crime”.
“That is why I resolved to emphasize raining and retraining of officer and men in the two departments to ensure proper and effective prosecutions of criminals and convicted”.
According to him the command would also prioritizes intelligence gathering and timely security and preventions actions than charged operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) to rededicate themselves to their duties, improve their professional conduct, and strengthen intelligence-gathering efforts for enhanced security across the state.
The Commissioner of Police warned against unprofessional conduct, which will cause serious embarrassment to the force, and called on them to cultivate credible informants to boost intelligence gathering and maintain integrity in their dealings.
The CP further charged the operatives to see intelligence gathering as the backbone of policing and to carry out their duties with the highest sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and patriotism.
CP Dahiru expressed appreciation for the media’s support, urging them to verify the facts before publication and use their platforms to promote peace, security, and unity through the state.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Zangina commended the Command for its open-door policy and proactive approach to crime prevention. He assured the CP of the chapel’s continuous support in projecting the positive image of the police and providing balanced reportage of its activities.
