The Jigawa state police command has succeeded in arrest of suspected cattle rustler and drugs dealers in the state

According to the statement, In line with the policing strategies of the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP Dahiru Muhammad, psc, fdc, aimed at combating crimes and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state, the Command has recorded another remarkable breakthrough.
On 23/10/2025, at about 1703hrs, Police operatives attached to Hadejia “B” Division, while acting on credible intelligence, intercepted one Idris Muhammed ‘m’ age 35yrs of Babbar Ruga, Malam Madori LGA, along Turabu–Hadejia Road, in possession of three cows reasonably suspected to be stolen.
During the course of investigation, the suspect confessed that the cows were stolen from Kukareta, Matti Local Government Area of Yobe State, by one Kaura Dillali, who is currently at large.
Efforts are being intensified to trace and arrest the fleeing suspect. The suspect arrested has since been charged in court to face the full wrath of the law.
Similarly, on the same date, at about 1112hrs, the Surveillance Team attached to Hadejia ‘A’ Division encountered one Bale (surname unknown), a notorious receiver of stolen property who has been on the Command’s wanted list. On sighting the operatives, the suspect abandoned his unregistered Jincheng motorcycle, with Chassis No. LJCPAGALH06SC06496 and Engine No. LH0606496, and fled the scene.
The said motorcycle has been recovered and is in police custody, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
The statement added that, in another development, the Jigawa State Police Command, through the combined efforts of operatives from Sara, Bamaina, and Sundimina Divisions, has successfully carried out coordinated raids leading to the arrest of three (3) suspected drug dealers and the recovery of a large quantity of illicit drugs and cash proceeds.
The operations, which were conducted following credible intelligence reports, targeted known hotspots for the sale and distribution of hard drugs in the Sara, Bamaina, and Sundimina areas. During the raids, the operatives recovered thirteen thousand, six hundred and twenty-two (13,622) pieces of assorted illicit drugs and four hundred and forty-one thousand, nine hundred and seventy-five naira (₦441,975) in cash, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
The Items recovered include: Exol, Tramadol, D5 Tablets, Rubber Solution, Diazepam, and Dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
According to the statement, the suspects, Yusuf Garba ‘m’ (aka Bamis), age 30yrs of Sara Kudu Quarters; Muhammad Rufa’i ‘m’ age 40yrs of Kangire village; and Jibrin Manga ‘m’ age 30yrs of Nasaru town, Ningi LGA, Bauchi state, were all apprehended while in possession of the exhibits.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects have been engaging in the illicit trade for an extended period, posing serious threats to the safety and well-being of the communities, especially the youth.
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, commended the efforts of the Divisional Police Officers and their teams for their dedication and professionalism in executing the operations. He reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to rid the state of crime, particularly drug abuse and trafficking, which often serve as a major catalyst for other criminal activities.
He further called on community leaders, parents, and the general public to continue supporting the police with useful information that will aid in sustaining the ongoing fight against drug abuse and other social vices.
The statement said, suspects will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
