The Speaker Jigawa state house of Assembly RT. hon Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin was elected as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) .
Dangyatin Emerged Chaiman of the Conference during the annual Congress and elections of new executive members of the group held in Abuja.
The political group was established to provide a platform for coordination amongst the State Assembly Speakers elected under the platform of All Progressive Congress ( APC) for championing and promoting the philosophy of the party, working together for the victory of the party, sustainable democracy peace and progression of Nigeria.
Other executive elected during the Congress meeting included: the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly as Deputy Chairman (South), while his counterpart from the Nasarawa State House of Assembly emerged as Deputy Chairman (North). and Speaker Ondo State House of Assembly as Treasurer
The six Zonal Vice Chairmen elected at the conference were : Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, for the South-West zone . the North-Central zone has the Speaker of Plateau State among others.
The newly elected executive members of the Progressive Speakers Conference will be sworn -in on Monday, 9th February 2026.
In his message the Jigawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi has congratulated RT Hon Haruna Dangyatin.described his election as a well-deserved.
In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Governor Namad Added that. the election of i Hon Dangyatin came at a crucial time, as the party is facing General election,
However the governor maintained that, he has confidence that Hon Dangyatin will bring his treasures of experience and commitment to strengthen coordination amongst the APC members for the party overwhelming victory at all level in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
