…As sites handover begins across LGAs to boost access to quality education

The Katsina State Government has approved the construction of thirty (30) new Senior Secondary Schools across the state.
The initiative, spearheaded by Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, is aimed at expanding access to quality education and reducing overcrowding in existing public schools.
As part of implementation efforts, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has commenced the official handover of project sites to contractors for immediate commencement of construction.
The site handover began with three locations in Batagarawa and Katsina Local Government Areas.
The schools set to be constructed in this phase include:
A Senior Secondary School at Commercial Junior Secondary School, Kayauki, Batagarawa LGA, a Senior Secondary School at Government Science Junior Secondary School, Batagarawa and Kiddies International School, Old Low-Cost Area, Katsina
During the handover at the Katsina site, Chairman of Katsina Local Government Area, Hon. Isah Miqdad A.D. Saude, described the development as a milestone in bringing secondary education closer to densely populated communities like Kofar Marusa, Katsina Old Low-Cost, and Mani House.
He praised Governor Radda for placing education at the forefront of his administration’s development agenda.
“This project is more than infrastructure, it is about giving every child the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society,” Saude remarked.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Mustapha Shehu, State Project Coordinator of the AGILE Programme, emphasized the government’s vision to reposition the education sector through sustained investments in new and existing schools.
He highlighted the importance of community engagement, urging stakeholders to monitor construction activities to ensure quality delivery.
“The construction of the 30 new schools is one of several strategic reforms under the Radda-led government’s comprehensive education development plan, designed to address the state’s rising demand for functional, inclusive, and equitable education”, shehu stated.
