The Katsina State Government, through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has officially issued appointment letters to newly recruited teachers and administrative staff, as well as admission letters to selected students of the newly established Model Secondary Schools located in Radda, Dumurkul, and Jikamshi.
The presentation of letters took place at the main hall of the one of the new school in Radda (Radda Model Secondary Schoo), marking a significant milestone in the educational reform agenda of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hon. Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia, described the initiative as a major investment in the future of education in Katsina State. He urged the newly appointed staff to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty,emphasizing that the appointments were strictly merit-based, and the model schools are expected to serve as centers of excellence and reference for quality education across the state.
The Commissioner further noted that students admitted into the new schools were carefully selected from public schools across all 361 political wards in the state a move that reflects fairness, inclusiveness, and equal opportunity for all, regardless of background or location.
He also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector, revealing that the 2026 budget has made provisions for the renovation of 74 secondary schools, both junior and senior, in addition to various programs aimed at improving infrastructure and learning outcomes.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of the Katsina State Teachers’ Service Board (TSB), Alhaji Sada Ibrahim called on the newly recruited teachers to work hard to realize the government’s educational vision, assuring them of the board’s full support.
Representing the people of Radda, the ward Head of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umar, Bare-Bari, expressed deep gratitude to the Governor for locating one of the model schools in ward, describing the gesture as a source of pride for the community and its surroundings.
In a vote of thanks, the newly appointed Principal of Radda Model Secondary School, Dr. Lawal Shehu, described the occasion as a historic moment in the state’s education and civil service sectors.
He confirmed that over 250 staff members received appointment letters to serve in the new schools, pledgeing their commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities and delivering quality teaching and learning outcomes.
