Katsina State Governor Approves N21 Billion for Payment of Gratuities

The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, CON, has approved the release of N21 billón for the payment of gratuities to retired state and local government workers across Katsina State.

The Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Falalu Bawale, made this known during an interview with journalists shortly after a meeting with the committee overseeing the payment of gratuities at his office in the state secretariat.

According to him, since assuming office, Governor Radda has prioritized the settlement of outstanding gratuities including those owed to both living retirees and the families of deceased workers.

He stated that the entire backlog of gratuities for state government workers will be cleared within the month of December, while payments for local government retirees will be disbursed gradually from December to March 2026.

Alhaji Falalu Bawale expressed gratitude to Governor Radda for his unwavering commitment to settling workers’ entitlements.

He also called on all retirees to support the current administration, acknowledging its efforts to improve the welfare and livelihoods of the people of Katsina State.
