As part of effort to make Jigawa State Drug-free, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Jigawa State Command, has arrested 577 suspects in relation with abuse of hard drugs and other Psychoactive substances in the state.
This was announced by the Commander of Narcotics (CN), State Commander CN Hassan K. Kabaju while briefing news men on the achievements recorded in the year 2025.

He explained that, the command worked hard with great determination to limit the supply and abuse of hard drugs and other Psychoactive substances, the command during the year under review succeeded in arrest of 577 Suspects including 558 male and 19 female.
According to him, the command also succeeded in seizures of exhibit with Weight of 1,944.388 kilograms, including Cannabis Sativa with weight of (441.973kgs), Psychotropic substances (1373 886kgs) and other substances of abuse such as Exol-5, Rubber Solution, Suck and Die, Pregablin etc weight to 128.520kgs.
The commander maintained that, the command during the year under review secured 136 convictions at Federal High Court Dutse, while a total of 558 drug users were referred for counseling in the year.

While speaking on war against drugs abuse sensitization campaign, CN Kabaju said, the command delivered 39,383 drug preventive education lectures/advocacy talks which were given in schools, National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), government agencies, drugs free clubs, civil society groups, and through print and electronic media.
He identified the challenges as lacks of operational vehicles and lacks of administrative/operational machines such as computers, photocopy machine, printers for daily administrative operation.
He then commended governor Malam Umar Namadi, other security agencies, traditional leaders and religious leaders and entire Jigawa people for their support and cooperation towards recording these success.
