The National Orientation Agency Jigawa State marked the 2025 National Ordinance Day in Dutse. The State Director, Mallam Ahmad Ibrahim Tijjani urged Nigerians to respect the national symbols.
This was contained in a statement signed by the NOA Media head and communications Sarah Ogodo and made it available to news men in Dutse.
According to the statement, the NOA Director said, national symbols is our identity and unity as a nation and people. He emphasized the need for Nigerians to consciously give greater respect to them, as they are not just ceremonial objects but powerful respresentation of Nigeria’s dignity.
He mentioned that, the national symbols are National flag, Coat of Arms, National Anthem, Pledge, Constitution, National Identity Card, International Passport and other emblems of sovereignty.
He said September 16 is annually observed as National Ordinary Day to commemorate the formal handing over of national symbols to Nigeria at independence.
He stressed that NOA remains resolute in it’s commitment in sensitizing the public especially the younger ones on the importance of the national symbols through patriotism which engenders love and dignity the represent.
The NOA boss finally explained that flags and coats arms Act 48 of 1960 outlines the regulations on the display and use of the coat of Nigerian National flag and the National Coat of Arms.
