Political Party leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Plateau state chapter has pledged it full support to Hon Hanatu Gagara, led chairmanship of the party in Plateau state.
Plateau central zonal chairman of the ADC Hon Manasseh Natyil, made the position of the party stakeholders public, during a press conference held in Jos.
The Plateau ADC officials pleaded that the National Chairman should review the actions and findings of the North Central Reconciliation Committee to ensure fairness, neutrality, and adherence to party constitution.
Amb. Mrs. Hannatu Gagara be retained as the Plateau State.
“Chairman of ADC. The NWC should issue a formal clarification to INEC and the general public reaffirming the current leadership structure in
Disciplinary measures should be taken against any member parading himself as State Chairman in contravention of party authority.
The party should strengthen mechanisms for conflict resolution to prevent future leadership crises.”
The ADC press briefing was attended by the 17 local government chairmen of the party and other top party starwarts who equally endorsed the person of Hon Hanatu Gagara, as state chairman of the ADC.
He said ADC is a registered and recognized political party by INEC, has national executives, therefore must have dully recognized chairman in Plateau state, in the person Hon Hanatu Gagara.
“We therefore appeal for the preservation of peace, order, and continuity
by retaining Amb. Mrs. Hannatu Gagara as the duly recognized state Chairman while considering other roles for Hon. Samuel Gyang if
the NWC deems it necessary.”
“For the interest of justice, gender equity, and party unity, we implore the National Chairman to uphold the democratic principles upon which
ADC was founded. Ambassador Mrs. Hannatu Gagara’s commitment, performance, and loyalty remain evident in her stewardship of the
Plateau State Chapter.”
According to Manasseh Natyil, the national working committee of the ADC had recognized the former acting chairman Samuel Gyang, in error as chairman who acted for four months but was suspended, and the suspension was yet to be lefted.
Text of the press conference revealed that ADC constitution has given 35 percent allocations of party leadership for female gender, hasce the need for a vibrant woman in the person Hanatu Gagara to lead the party in Plateau state.
