The Plateau State Police Command has reported several operational breakthroughs for the month of September 2025.
The state Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Adesina during a press briefing of the month of September, at the Command’s headquarters in Jos, the state capital enumerated them to include the arrest of suspects involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms.
He said the command also rescued kidnap victims and recovered firearms and stolen property. He noted that some case included arrest of a kidnap suspect, Auwal Mohammed, who confessed to being part of a kidnap syndicate operating between Plateau and Bauchi states.
Adesina explained that one victim, Ebuka who wad kidnapped was Rescued and arrest was made of four suspects, with one locally fabricated pistol. Arrest of two suspects, Inusa Yahaya and Abdulrahman Suleiman, with a locally fabricated revolver rifle.
He said other arrest were of suspects involved in criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, with one suspect arrested and efforts ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects. Recovery of stolen cows and arrest of suspects involved in criminal conspiracy and theft.
The Commissioner however explained that a suspect, Godwin Jacob, was found in a possession of a locally fabricated pistol
and live ammunition, with another suspect, Emmanuel Markus, who was arrested and also confessed to the crime.
The Commissioner of Police directed all DPOs and Heads of Tactical/Patrol Teams to embark on “Ember Month Surveillance” operations to ensure safety in the state during this period.
