Prime Initiative engages Stakeholders to promotes budgets performance in Jigawa

The Prime Initiative in collaboration with Justice for Tax Platform with support from Christian Aid have organised a two-day workshop for Jigawa Stakeholders in education, health and commerce sectors.

The workshop that converge critical Stakeholders including Civil Society Organization (CSOs), Government’s ministries and Agencies Collaborate and designed a strategies to Strengthen Transparency and accountability in Jigawa State Budget Process.

Speaking during the meeting, the executive director Prime Initiative Comrade Muhammad Abdu Dutse, said the gathering aimed to review 2025 second quarter Budget Performance in Health, Education, and Commerce.

He explained that, the participants during the meeting acquired more knowledge and skills on how to track, monitor and review budget performance as well as how to identified areas of challenges and progress.

“The two-day workshop boost participants knowledge on how to track and monitor budget performance and identified areas of challenges to advocate for addressing it as well as areas of progress to strengthen the relevant agencies”.

“We also equipped the participants with a strategies and tactics of successful advocacy for promoting budget performance in the implementation process”, Comrade Abdu said.

He maintained that, education and health sectors were selected as it is more critical to less privilege people, while Commerce is selected as the sectors that generates funds for the implementation of all projects.

Comrade Abdu then, urged participants to use the skills acquired during the workshop and boost the budget performance in the state.
