Safe Schools : FG, SCI Collaborates to Promotes safety of Schools in Jigawa

The Federal Government of Nigeria through National Safe Schools Program, in collaboration with Save the Children International (SCI) has launched a three day training on Safe School Response Coordination to security personnel in Jigawa state.
Speaking to Journalists during the training held at Safe Schools Centre in old secretariat Dutse, the head of training, National Safe School Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC) Abuja in the National Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), ACC Josiah .A Shuaibu explained that, the training aimed at improving school safety in the state.
“This training designed to strengthen participants’ ability to ensure secure learning environments. It was part of the NSCDC’s broader efforts to support the Safe Schools Project and align with the Federal Government’s Safe Schools Declaration”.
He said the training aimed to equip participants with the latest skills, technologies, innovation and collaboration in addressing the evolving risks faced by schools for better and effective schoolchildren, teachers and school’s buildings protections.
“As you are aware the Nigerian government is a signatory of the Safe School Declaration, so the main essence is to ensure our personal to be conversant with implementation guidelines to no be deviates and more prepare and more properly mistrend activities of day to day basis”.
While making his remarks, the Advocacy and campaign coordinator for the Save the Children International (SCI) in Jigawa state Mr. Joseph Apeh commended the federal and Jigawa state governments for their commitment by investing huge for the right and welfare of children.
Mr Joseph Apeh who also a resource person in the training said the training is organized in collaboration with Save the Children International (SCI) supported by European Union (EU) is parts of its contribution for the implementation and promoting the Safe School Declaration in Jigawa state and Nigeria.
According to him “this is in the consideration to have a very vital role in keeping the children safe. The goals of hole thing is that our schools’ children would remain safe to be able to learn in peace without any threat”.
He added that “we are doing the training to promote the safe school decorations the Nigeria have signed to implementation. It it a three day training for protecting all schools from any military use of state and non state arm roots”.
