Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have recorded significant operational successes in Plateau State following a fresh counter-terrorism deployment aimed at restoring peace in troubled communities.

In Jos North Local Government Area, soldiers responded to a distress call late Thursday night intercepted two suspects posing as security operatives at Dutse Uku.
The individuals, dressed in black tactical uniforms, were apprehended while allegedly setting residential buildings ablaze and inciting violence within the community.
Military sources confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody, while two civilians injured during the incident have been evacuated to a medical facility and are in stable condition.
The statement described the arrest as a major development amid recent claims of military involvement in unrest in the area.
Authorities said the incident highlights the activities of criminal elements disguising as security personnel to carry out attacks and undermine public trust in the Armed Forces.
In a related operation in Karem, Wase Local Government Area, troops on high alert disrupted the movement of suspected terrorists traveling on motorcycles.
The statement explained that following a gun battle, three of the suspects were neutralised, while others fled the scene under sustained military pressure.
The military attributed the recent successes to the deployment of additional troops, including specialised counter-terrorism units, ordered earlier on Thursday by the Chief of Army Staff.
Security officials said the reinforcement has significantly strengthened operations across volatile areas, enabling forces to take proactive control and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
The Joint Task Force reiterated its commitment to eliminating criminal elements in the state, warning that all individuals involved in acts of violence will be decisively dealt with.
It however urged residents to remain vigilant and support security efforts by reporting suspicious activities to relevant authorities, as operations continue to ensure lasting peace and stability across Plateau State.
