A member of the Katsina State state House of Assembly representing Dandume constituency, Yahaya Nuhu Mahuta has described peace deal with bandit in Katsina Communities as the best option for restoring and sustainance of peace in the state.
He said the peace deal with bandits which was initiated by communities also restored economic activities in areas that are hitherto facing insecurity.
Mahuta who spoke with newsmen said local governments that entered peace deal with bandits are now living in peace without fear of any attacks.
He cited example of his local government which is before the peace deal experienced incessant attacks and kidnapping of innocent people.
“My local government, Dandume is one of the areas that are implementing peace deal with bandits”, Mahuta said.
“We are now enjoying peace, people engage in their economic activities more freely without any fear of attacks by the bandits”, he added.
The lawmaker commended communities, religious and traditional rulers for working toward successful implementation of peace deal in the area.
He also lauded contribution of the state government under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda in dealing with insecurity problems in the state.
