Stakeholders of the Limawa ward in Yola North local government area have urge Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.
Speaking at a press conference in Yola Tuesday,a stalwart of the party, Yusuf Dan Umma Jimeta stressing that limawa ward is solidly behind the call for Fintiri to defect to the party (APC) insisting that it is the governor’s right to cross carpet to any political platform of his choice.
Dan Umma who is a close associate of the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu expressed satisfaction with the speculation for the proposed move insisting that politics is a game of numbers which he said his ward welcome Governor Fintiri and his supporters.
He added that APC as a political platform will accommodate any one who decides to be in the party and will be given level playing ground to aspire any political position of his or her choice with any discrimination.
“We Welcome Governor Fintiri to APC just like when someone decides to be a Muslim or a Christian,by the time he pronounce he is one of them, that is all.
“Most of them have been in the APC at a time or the other, either at formation stage as pioneers or later on”.Dan Umma emphasized.
Earlier at the conference, another party leader and former Director General, Nigeria Incentive Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending, NIRSAL. Aliyu Abbati Abdulhameed applauded the effort of Limawa ward mobilization committee for a fruitful sensitization of party members in the just concluded E-Registeration .
Abdulhameed who doubles as a patron Member of the party at Limawa ward advocated for more awareness of members ahead of the 2027 general elections where the party can attain victory highlighting that the ward registered the higher number of party members with 20,880,00 representing 12.2 percent across the 226 wards in the state.
“We are gathered here in Limawa Ward to celebrate a historic achievement. A statement that says: “Limawa Ward is ready. Limawa Ward is capable. Limawa Ward is unstoppable.” I want to extend our warmest gratitude to the leadership of our party at the LGA, State, and National levels.
“Your guidance and support have created the enabling environment for wards like ours to flourish. We are grateful. In February 2026, the APC opened its doors across Nigeria. In Adamawa State, 450,000 Nigerians registered as members. In Yola North LGA—the largest LGA in Adamawa—137,091 members registered, representing 30.7 percent of the state total.
“But within Yola North LGA, one ward stood out: LIMAWA WARD. 20,880 new members registered in our ward—15.2 percent of all registrations in the LGA. We are the leading ward in all of Adamawa State. Among 226 wards, Limawa Ward stands at the pinnacle. We are number one!
“My call to each and every one of you: Come out on Election Day and vote en masse.Show the nation that when the APC calls, Limawa Ward answers. Show our government that we are a reliable partner deserving of recognition and investment”. Abdulhameed maintained
