The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State has renewed its push for unity and expansion as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.
At the party’s State Congress in Jos, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, called on members to remain united, describing the party as one big family.
He urged every registered member to recruit at least ten new members within the next month, encouraging them to act as “evangelists” of the party across wards and communities.
The Governor stressed that internal unity — not external opposition — would determine the party’s success in 2027. He also cautioned supporters, especially youths on social media, against actions capable of causing division.
Governor Mutfwang congratulated the newly elected executive and reminded them that their loyalty must remain with the party and the people of Plateau State.
Also speaking, the newly elected State Chairman, Rufus Bature, pledged accountability and aggressive grassroots expansion, declaring that “failure is not an option.”
In his acceptance speech, Bature thanked party leaders and delegates for the confidence reposed in him, describing his emergence as a huge responsibility.
He highlighted the party’s political strength across the state, with representation in the Senate, House of Representatives, State Assembly, local government councils, and wards.
Unveiling the slogan, “APC everywhere you go,” Bature promised to reposition the party for greater dominance ahead of 2027.
He assured members that under his leadership, the party would promote legislative oversight and ensure accountability among elected officials, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The congress ended on a strong note of unity, with leaders and delegates pledging to work together as the countdown to 2027 begins.
