Three Killed, 11 Injured as Bandits Attack Jikamshi Village in Katsina.

At least three people were killed and 11 others injured when suspected armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Jikamshi village in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State on Tuesday evening.

The incident, which occurred around 6:05 p.m., reportedly involved a gang of heavily armed men who opened fire on residents before security operatives could arrive.

The Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Command, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu who confirmed the incident said a joint team of security agencies, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Musawa, promptly responded to the distress call and engaged the attackers in a gun duel, successfully preventing further escalation of the assault.

“The injured were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, three victims were confirmed dead by the attending doctor, while 11 others are receiving treatment and responding to care,” the statement added.

The statement further quoted the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, as condemning the attack in the strongest terms and directing a full-scale investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.

He also ordered the enhancement of proactive security measures across the state to prevent recurrence of such violent incidents.

The Police Command assured residents of Katsina of its continued commitment to ensuring peace and security, promising to communicate further developments in due course.
