The Peoples Democratic Party Candidates Forum, Kaduna State Chapter, has called on citizens across the state to rally behind Hon. Usman S Bawa (ABG) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, describing him as the candidate with the capacity to restore confidence in governance.
The forum, under the leadership of its elected Chairman, Hon. Tanimu Musa, who is the PDP candidate for Kachia Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, said the endorsement follows a careful assessment of Bawa’s track record and vision for the state.
In a statement signed by the Forum’s Secretary, Hon. Sani Ibrahim Mainasara, PDP candidate for Zaria Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, the group said the decision was reached after extensive consultations among candidates contesting various seats under the party in the state.
The forum noted that Hon. Usman S. Bawa, a former Member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, brings legislative experience, grassroots connection, and a clear understanding of the challenges facing Kaduna State.
“If elected Governor, Hon. Usman Bawa has committed to prioritizing the provision of basic amenities that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens,” the statement read. “These include access to quality education, improved healthcare services, and reliable infrastructure across urban and rural areas.”
On security, the forum said Bawa’s plan adopts a non-kinetic approach aimed at addressing the root causes of insecurity affecting communities in Kaduna State. The strategy, it explained, combines dialogue, community engagement, and targeted interventions to complement conventional security measures.
The forum also highlighted Bawa’s commitment to youth and women empowerment as a central pillar of his agenda. His administration, the statement said, will expand skills acquisition programmes and provide financial support for startups to enable young people and women to become economically self-reliant.
According to the forum, revitalizing the education sector and strengthening health services will receive immediate attention to reduce the burden on families and improve human capital development in the state.
“Hon. Bawa understands that no meaningful development can occur without peace and security,” the statement added. “His approach seeks to rebuild trust between government and communities while creating opportunities that discourage crime and restiveness.”
The PDP Candidates Forum urged voters in Kaduna State to look beyond party sentiments and choose competence and proven service. It expressed confidence that a Bawa-led administration would deliver inclusive development and restore hope to citizens across all 23 local government areas.
The forum concluded by calling on party members, stakeholders, and the general public to mobilize support for Hon. Usman Bawa (ABG) to ensure victory for the PDP and a new direction for Kaduna State.
