The Minister of State Education Professor Suwaiba Ahmed has expressed satisfaction with process of conducting National Learning Assessment (NLA) examination in Jigawa state.
Professor Suwaiba dropped the hint while inspecting some selected primary, junior and secondary schools in Ringim local government area of Jigawa State on Thursday.
The Minister who said, the assessment is holistic for both government and private schools is aimed at helping government on how and where to intervene for improving improve learning in primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.
“I went round to see the conduct of examination to ensure everything is going as it should, from three schools I have visited which are two secondary schools and one Basic school, the conduct of the examination is going smoothly, and started on time, students seated according to centres, rules and regulations. So I’m happy with the process of the conduct.
“I’m sure the results from this examination will give us a clear picture of the level of achievement and learning outcomes of the students which will also facilitate Federal government in making intervention and planning to ensure at every level students are giving opportunities to learn, so that they can transit from one class to another class.
She then, reintreated the Federal government Commitments under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve learning and teaching process for better education in Nigeria.
