The Senior Special Assistant to the Gombe State Governor on Security and Intergovernmental Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Musa Danbayo, has received two Awards of Excellence from the Dangin Juna Africa Initiative (DJAI) in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian service and contributions to community development.

The awards were presented at the closing ceremony of the DJAI National Retreat 0.2 held at the Yankari Game Reserve in Bauchi State.

Presenting the awards, the National Chairman of DJAI, Usman BK, described Danbayo as a committed humanitarian whose dedication to community service has positively impacted many lives through the AC4D and Gidan Alheri initiatives.

He said the honour was in recognition of Danbayo’s unwavering support for humanitarian programmes, youth empowerment and community development, noting that his efforts continue to inspire positive change across society.

Usman urged members of the organisation to emulate Danbayo’s example by remaining committed to selfless service and contributing meaningfully to the development of their communities and the nation.

Receiving the awards, Danbayo expressed appreciation to the national leadership of DJAI, its members and the Gombe State chapter, Gidan Alheri, for the recognition.

He described the awards as a source of encouragement and a call to deepen his commitment to humanitarian service.

“I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to receive these two Awards of Excellence at the successful conclusion of the DJAI National Retreat 0.2 in recognition of my commitment to humanitarian service through AC4D and Gidan Alheri,” he said.

Danbayo said the recognition was not merely a personal achievement but a reminder that true leadership is anchored on compassion, integrity, sacrifice and service to humanity.

He commended the organisers for hosting what he described as a successful retreat that provided participants with valuable lessons on purposeful leadership, volunteerism and community development.

According to him, one of the major lessons from the retreat was the importance of focusing collective energy on actions that improve lives and strengthen communities instead of allowing fear or uncertainty to impede progress.

The governor’s aide reaffirmed his commitment to promoting humanitarian service, peace, unity, sustainable development and community empowerment, pledging to continue working with volunteers, development partners and other stakeholders to improve the welfare of vulnerable people.

He dedicated the awards to volunteers, colleagues and partners whose commitment to humanitarian causes has made a lasting impact, stressing that enduring change begins with simple acts of kindness and collective responsibility.

Danbayo also thanked the Dangin Juna Africa Initiative, AC4D, Gidan Alheri and all supporters for their confidence in him, assuring them of his continued dedication to the ideals of service above self.
