My Presence Signals Govt Commitments To Implement OGP SAP III, –  Jigawa Dep Gov.

The Jigawa State government has reaffirmed it’s commitments to the implementation of validated Jigawa State Open Government Partnership (OGP) State Action Plan III (2026–2028).

This was announced by the State Deputy Governor and also Chairman of the Jigawa State Open Government Partnership (OGP) Steering Committee, Alhaji Aminu Usman at the two-day validation workshop held in Bafra hotel in Kaduna.

The deputy governor who said, the four pillars of OGP SAP III is inline with 12 points agenda of the present administration, reaffirmed the commitment to the implemention of the pillars for the betterment of Jigawa citizens.

He urged the participants to identify priority areas and do their best for ensuring more citizens participation, Accountability, and transparency in governance.

While delivering his remarks, the OGP Co-chair State Actors and also commissioner of budget and economic planning Alhaji Babangida Umar Gantsa, said the workshop represents another important milestone in the  commitment to strengthening transparency, accountability, citizen participation, and effective public service delivery and it also demonstrates the Government’s resolve to ensure that governance remains open, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of our citizens. 

“The State Action Plan before us is the outcome of months of consultation, dialogue, and collaboration among government institutions, civil society organisations, development partners, and other key stakeholders. I sincerely thank everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and commitment throughout the co-creation process. 

“As we validate this Action Plan, our collective responsibility is to ensure that every commitment is practical, measurable, and achievable. More importantly, we must ensure that the commitments are backed by strong institutional ownership, adequate coordination, and effective monitoring to deliver meaningful results”, he said. 

The Co-chair added that, the Government of Jigawa State remains fully committed to implementing the four strategic commitments contained in SAP III:  including Fiscal Transparency and Accountability, Access to Justice, Climate Action; and Anti-Corruption and Asset Disclosure.

He then said, implementation is a shared responsibility. Every Ministry, Department and Agency has a critical role to play, just as our civil society partners, development partners, the media, and citizens remain indispensable partners in ensuring the success of this Action Plan. 

“As Government Co-Chair, I reaffirm our commitment to providing the coordination, leadership, and collaboration required to ensure that SAP III is implemented effectively and that progress is regularly monitored and reported”, he said.

Also speaking, the Co-chair Non State Actors Comrade Isah Mustapha explained that, the Action Plan is the product of an inclusive co-creation process that brought together government institutions, civil society organisations, development partners, the private sector, professional bodies, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other key stakeholders. 

He said, this collaborative approach gives us confidence that the commitments, adopt truly reflect the priorities and aspirations of the people of Jigawa State. 

“As we validate this Action Plan, let us ask ourselves one simple question: Will these commitments improve the lives of our citizens? If the answer is yes, then we have fulfilled the true purpose of this process. 

“As Non-State Actors, we reaffirm our commitment to being constructive partners throughout the implementation of SAP III. We will continue to mobilise citizens’ participation, promote public awareness, provide evidence-based feedback, and work collaboratively with government to ensure that the commitments contained in this Action Plan translate into tangible improvements in governance and service delivery”, Comrade Mustapha said.
