Former Katsina State Commissioner and Special Adviser, Mustapha Kanti Bello, has commended Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for his commitment to sustainable development through the “Building Your Future” agenda.
Bello gave the commendation while speaking with journalists after a valedictory State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Radda at the Upper Chamber of Muhammadu Buhari House, Government House, Katsina.
The meeting was held to bid farewell to Bello and other outgoing council members, including Hon. Ya’u Ahmed Nowa, Hon. Jamila Abdu Mani, Hon. Hamza Suleiman Faskari and Hon. Aminu Lawal Maye Jibia.
The Head of Service, Alhaji Falalu Bawale, who is retiring after 35 years of service in the state civil service, was also honoured.
Bello, who served for 11 years as a member of the State Executive Council, said he was leaving with a sense of fulfilment, having contributed to programmes and institutions aimed at improving the lives of the people.
He identified the establishment of the Katsina State Mining and Exploration Company as one of his major legacies, saying it was created during his tenure as Commissioner for Resource Development under former Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
According to him, the company was established to harness the state’s mineral resources, promote exploration and generate sustainable revenue for development.
Bello also highlighted his contribution to rural development as Commissioner for Rural Development under the Masari administration, particularly through the Katsina State Rural Revitalisation and Economic Programme (KARREA), implemented in collaboration with development partners and other stakeholders.
He said his subsequent appointment as Special Adviser on Human Capital Development under Governor Radda enabled him to contribute to initiatives that led to the establishment of the Katsina State Community Development Programme (CDP).
Bello commended the Radda administration for reforms in key sectors, including digital governance, agriculture, support for farmers and MSMEs, as well as the digitisation of land administration through KATDICT.
He described Governor Radda as a leader who encourages new ideas, promotes youth participation and is committed to building a sustainable future for Katsina State.
Bello expressed appreciation to Governor Radda and the people of the state for the opportunity to serve, saying he would take the experience gained in public service into his new political assignment as the APC candidate for Kankia, Ingawa and Kusada Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
