The Gombe State Police Command and the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs have resolved to strengthen their collaboration in tackling crime and emerging security threats across the state.

The commitment was made when the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, received the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Dishi Kufto, who paid a familiarisation visit to the command.

The visit, according to the parties, was aimed at deepening inter-agency cooperation, improving information sharing and enhancing coordination among security stakeholders to sustain peace and protect lives and property in the state.

Speaking during the visit, CP Chuso emphasised the need for security agencies to strengthen intelligence sharing and ensure prompt responses to emerging threats.

He also stressed the importance of community engagement, noting that closer cooperation between security agencies and residents would help in identifying potential threats early and preventing them from escalating.

The commissioner commended Kufto for the visit and assured the ministry of the command’s continued support and cooperation in the fight against crime.

He said the police would continue to work closely with the state government and other security agencies to strengthen the security architecture of Gombe State and create a safe environment for residents to conduct their lawful activities.

In his response, Kufto expressed appreciation to the police command for its cooperation, pledging the ministry’s continued partnership with the police and other security agencies.

He said stronger coordination among security institutions remained critical to addressing security challenges and sustaining peace across the state.

The engagement underscored the need for greater synergy between government institutions and security agencies in confronting emerging threats and maintaining law and order in Gombe.
