No fewer than, 374 teachers and 48 headteachers have received intensive training on how to function as an instructional leaders through use of cutting edges technology in Jigawa state.

Acting Managing Director, Jigawa UNITE Mr. Olusanya Omojola during the graduation ceremony of the inducted teachers held in Hadejia.
He explained that, JigawaUNITE is fully focused to achieving it mission as set out by His Excellency- which is to deliver dramatic improvements in learning outcomes in government schools for all children across Jigawa State.
According to him, the program has been designed to transform all government primary schools into powerful public schools by leveraging cutting-edge technology, data-driven platforms, and high-quality instructional materials.
“We are here for one reason, and one reason only: the Learning Outcomes of our children in Jigawa State. In the past we have measured success by the number of children in classrooms, by the structures we build, by the number of desks we provide. Well those are important, but they are the how, not the what.
“The true measure of our success will now be answered by one simple question: Is every child in every one of our primary schools actually learning? Can every child read? Can they reason? Can they solve problems? Are they equipped not just to pass an exam, but to compete on a global stage?”, he said.
He said , the training was the first, crucial step in ensuring the answer is a resounding YES!. Our teachers have been trained and equipped with knowledge and exposed to the best-in-class concepts in classroom management, lesson planning, and child-centred pedagogy.
The Managing Director, added that,Headteachers have learned how to function not just as an administrator, but as an instructional leader, a catalyst for change.They have been empowered with cutting edge technology. They now have the teacher tablets and smartphones. They now know how to operate and navigate the different mobile applications that ensures that professionalism and effective teaching is happening in our schools.
According to him, smartphones can be described as the school’s data command center,* allowing headteachers to track each child’s progress in real-time, identify learning gaps, and to provide personalised support to every single pupil.
“We had already graduated about 1,100 teachers and 202 headteachers in the previous concluded wave — and wave 2, held in Hadejia and Gumel respectively.
“I’m pleased to inform you that, Today, we will be graduating 374 teachers and 48 headteachers. The JigawaUNITE teachers would be teaching about 8,000 pupils in this new sharing September 8th, and we are excited about the new learning opportunities our children would have access to”, he said.
Mr Omojola who described teachers as the most critical linkers charged teachers to ignite a lifelong love of learning in a child. Urging them to use these tools and be the mentor, guider to the inspiration that every child deserves.
“You must lead the change. You are the CEOs of your schools. Your teachers demand accountability, and engage with your communities. Lead this change with courage”, he said.
While making his remarks, the state commissioner ministry of basic education, Alhaji Lawan Yunusa Danzo who represent the Jigawa State governor said, Jigawa State government will recruit female teachers from rural communities to address the shortage of women in the profession.
He explained that the new recruits will be posted to serve in their local areas, ensuring that children, especially girls, have access to female role models in schools.
The commissioner then commended JigawaUNITE adding that, the training is designed to equip teachers with more skills, greater knowledge, and encourage the use of technology in the basic education sector.
