Jigawa Assembly Passes N75 Billion Supplementary Budget

The Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed a N75 billion supplementary budget for the state and local governments  2025 fiscal year.

The budget was passed into law during a plenary session presided over by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Sani Isiya.

The passage followed the adoption of the report from the House Committee on Appropriation Hon Ibrahim Hamza Adamu

The approved supplementary budget comprises N58 billion for the State Government and N17 billion for the 27 Local Government Councils, covering both recurrent and capital expenditures.

In his address, the Deputy Speaker stated that, based on a letter received from the executive arm, the supplementary budget is intended to address emerging financial needs. It will enhance ongoing projects and programs across critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture.

The House unanimously approved the passage of the supplementary budget to augment the state’s 2025 budget, which amounts to N689.3 billion and was initially approved by the House on December 31, 2024.
