As Over 100 members meets, Rebrands Jigawa OGP, Vows to compete Internationally

No fewer than one hundred registered members of Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Jigawa state held a general meeting with aims to rebrands the team.

Speaking to news men during the meeting, the Non State Actors Co-Chair Comrade Isah Mustapha promised to do all his and ensure Inclusion, transparency and accountability in Jigawa.

Comrade Isah who promised to rebrands OGP in the state said, the participants are invited from all over the state to develop OGP State Action Plan (SAP) III, as well as to develop a thematic areas with leadership from each thematic.

“To ensure Inclusionan  transparency we invited all CSOs registered with CAC, state and even local government level to develop our SAP and design a thematic areas with aims to have a strong OGP that can ensure inclusiveness, transparency and accountability in Governance in the state “, he said.

According to him, the participants agreed to have four thematic areas each with one or two Commitments, while each participant has a right to choose thematic area based on area of specialization.

He maintained that, the four thematic areas are Fiscal transparency and accountability, Access to Justice, Climate Change and Anti-corruption thematic area.

“So this is some of our plan and strategies with hope to bring back Jigawa OGP to action and make it compete with other OGP at international arena” Comrade Isah said.

He then called for more cooperation from the members to achieve the desired goals of making Jigawa best in transparency, accountability and inclusive Governance in Nigeria and the world at large.
