No fewer than 157 Polling Units of Taura local government area of Jigawa State have received the sum sum of ₦31.4 Million across 157 Polling Units in the local government area.
This was contained in a statement signed by the information officer of Taura local government comrade Aliyu Sayanu Jahun and made it available to news men.
According to the statement, the disbursement was officially launched by the Executive Chairman of Taura Local Government, Hon. Shu’aibu Bin Hambali Turakin Taura, who said the disbursement of the fund is part of governor Malam Umar Namadi’s effort to support grassroots development and improve the living condition of rural communities.
Speaking during the disbursement, Hon. Shu’aibu Bin Hambali commended the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umaru Namadi (Dan Modi), for his commitment to improving the welfare of the people and fulfilling his promises to the citizens of the state.
The Chairman explained that the Polling Units funds would contribute significantly to improving the living conditions of rural residents while reducing the burden on government by supporting the implementation of small-scale development projects at the ward and Akwati levels across the state.
Hon. Shu’aibu Bin Hambali further cautioned Akwati leaders against misusing the funds, urging them to ensure that the money is utilized strictly for the intended community development purposes.
Also speaking, the Secretary of Taura Local Government, Alhaji Auwalu Dan Ladi Gujungu, said the council would embark on monitoring visits to various Akwati units to verify and assess projects executed with the funds.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Taura Local Government Councillors, Hon. Aliyu Taura, officially launched the disbursement of the funds in the Taura Ward.
Then the local government assured residents that appropriate monitoring mechanisms would be put in place to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective utilization of the funds for the benefit of the communities.
