The Jigawa State governor Malam Umar Namadi has emerged sole gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressive Congress APC in the forthcoming 2027 general election in Jigawa state.
Presenting the certificate of return for the primary election held on Thursday at Dutse Stadium, the chairman of the electoral committee Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida said the governor emerged unopposed.
He explained that, ” In presence and consent of 287. Political wards delegates and 27 local government delegates, Based on Section 86 and 87 of the 2026 electoral act and article 20 of APC Constitution I hereby declare his Excellency Malam Umar Namadi as a duly elected APC governorship candidate for Jigawa State in the next coming 2027 general election, I so declared.
“I honourable Isa Sadiq Achida the chairman of the 2026/2027 APC gubernatorial Primary election in Jigawa state, having satisfied with requirements of the law I hereby handover the certificate of return to our duly elected governorship candidate Malam Umar A. Namadi”, he said.
While delivering his speech after receiving the certificate of return, Governor Malam Umar Namadi thanks the entire members of All Progressive Congress APC for given him a chance to contest for the second term.
“I want use this opportunity to thank the members of our great Party APC for endorsing me to contest for the second term as your gubernatorial candidate in the state”, he said.
The governor who promised to continue the good work he is doing for the progress of Jigawa state, as the project of greater Jigawa is on course.
“Our projects for greater Jigawa is on course and will continue to persue it up to the logical conclusion, with these jobs you have given me, i want urged you to work hard and easy all APC candidates right from the President Upto state house of Assembly are elected during the general election” the governor said.
He then, Commended the party elders, electoral committee and entire party members for attending the occasion.
