Jigawa Govt Approves Land Allocation For Establishment of Nigerian Army 262 Battalion in Gumel

The Jigawa State executive council Council has approved the immediate allocation of land for the establishment of newly Nigerian Army 262 Tank Battalion in Gumel.

This was announced by the State commissioner for information Alhaji Sagir Musa as part of the council resolution held on Monday at government House Dutse.

He explained that, the effort Followed the recent establishment of the 262 Tank Battalion in Gumel by the Nigerian Army.

The Commissioner added that, the land allocation will support the battalion’s seamless take-off and operational readiness.

According to him, during the meeting, Council recognized the strategic importance of this new military formation in bolstering security within the area and the state at large.

Consequently, the Council has directed the immediate handover of the designated site to the Nigerian Army. Furthermore, the Council has mandated the Ministry of Land to expedite all necessary administrative processes.

He maintained that, the Ministry is to issue the formal allocation letters and all accompanying documentation to the Nigerian Army, while ensuring there are no bureaucratic hurdles in the smooth commencement of the 262 Tank Battalion’s operations.

While the Secretary to the State Government The State Government views the establishment of the 262 Tank Battalion as a critical development in State ongoing partnership with the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

“This swift land allocation underscores the administration’s of His Excellency Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA administration commitment to the protection of lives and property, and readiness to provide maximum support to federal security agencies operating within the state borders”, he said. 

The Commissioner maintained that, Council has assured the officers and men of the 262 Tank Battalion to Gumel and the Nigerian Army of the State Government continuous cooperation in the shared mission of maintaining peace, stability, and security across the State.
