The National Safari Legal Advocacy Justice Reform Foundation of Nigeria has appointed the Gombe State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Barrister Sani Ahmed Haruna, as a trustee of the organisation.
The foundation announced the appointment on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, when its delegation paid a courtesy visit to the commissioner in his office in Gombe.
The delegation also congratulated Haruna on his appointment and presented him with a gift in recognition of his commitment to justice, accountability and institutional reforms.
Responding, the commissioner thanked the foundation for the visit, congratulatory message and gift, assuring the delegation of the state government’s commitment to maintaining cordial relations among lawyers, the judiciary and other stakeholders in the justice sector.
Haruna, popularly known as Wakilin Arewa Gombe, urged the foundation to prioritise legal reforms in the state, particularly the review and strengthening of laws governing local government administration.
He said effective legal reforms were essential to promoting good governance, accountability and sustainable community development.
Earlier, the foundation’s National Chairman, Malam Alhussani Ibrahim, said the delegation visited the commissioner to congratulate him and commend his contributions to justice, accountability and institutional reforms.
Ibrahim expressed confidence that Haruna’s experience and knowledge would contribute significantly to the foundation’s objectives and efforts to advance reforms in the justice sector.
In his vote of thanks, the Director of Administration and Finance of the foundation, Malam Aliyu Hamza Abdulkadir, appreciated the delegation for the visit and appointment, describing the gift presented to the commissioner as a symbol of goodwill and solidarity with the ministry.
