The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Jigawa State chapter has endorsed the son of former Jigawa state Governor Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido as it’s sole gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming 2027 election in Jigawa.
Mustapha Lamido was endorsed shortly after the state PDP’s caucus meeting held on Tuesday in Dutse the state capital.
Speaking during the endorsement, the state Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim Gumel said, Alhaji Mustapha Lamido was endorsed after the stakeholders deliberation and agreet to adopted him as a consensus gubernatorial candidate in the state.
“After the deliberation during the meeting, the PDP’s stakeholders agreed and endorsed Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido as a sole gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa state for the forthcoming 2027 election”, Gumel said.
While responding, Alhaji Mustaph Sule Lamido, agreed to contest for the governorship position and picked the party’s nomination form to contest the governorship again in 2027.
Mustapha, who presented the form to the PDP State Working Committee and other party stakeholders in Dutse, seek Jigawa People’s support to save the state from the ruling party.
He said he had completed consultations and was seeking the party’s approval to serve as its flag bearer in the next election.
Lamido said he is the PDP card-carrying member, and the believe in their party’s philosophy, strength, and resilience to tackle its internal challenges and surmount the problems affecting Jigawa and Nigeria if given the chance again
He added that the PDP has a proven record of delivering projects and programs that directly improve people’s lives.
The gubernatorial candidate, criticized other political parties that have held power since, saying they had worsened the country’s social, economic, and security challenges through poor leadership.
He then, urged all PDP members in Jigawa to support him and pledged to continue promoting the party’s core values of patriotism and service to humanity.
