Katsina State Government has showcased its ongoing business-enabling reforms aimed at attracting more domestic and foreign investments, creating jobs and driving sustainable economic growth.

The Deputy Governor, Faruk Lawal, stated this at the 2026 Nationwide Subnational Engagement and Technical Reform Workshop held in Katsina, saying the administration had introduced wide-ranging reforms to improve the ease of doing business and position the state as a preferred investment destination.

He said the reforms include investment facilitation, automation of land administration, digitalisation of land records, implementation of the Responsible and Inclusive Land-intensive Agricultural Investment (RILA) framework, and modernisation of tax administration through digital platforms.

Lawal added that the state had strengthened public-private partnerships, facilitated interstate trade, improved public financial management and introduced reforms in the water and electricity sectors to support private-sector growth.

According to him, the reforms are designed to create a transparent, efficient and investor-friendly business environment capable of accelerating economic development and improving livelihoods.

In her keynote address delivered virtually, the Director-General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, urged state governments to sustain business-friendly reforms and strategically promote their investment opportunities to attract local and foreign investors.

She said states should leverage their comparative advantages, eliminate barriers to investment and communicate their reform achievements effectively to enhance investor confidence and competitiveness.

Also speaking, the Director-General of the Katsina State Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi, described the workshop as an avenue for government and private-sector stakeholders to identify challenges and develop practical solutions for improving the state’s investment climate.

He reaffirmed Katsina State’s commitment to sustaining reforms that simplify business procedures, encourage enterprise and improve public service delivery.
