President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Jigawa State with highest votes of 206,520 votes.
The results was announced by the returning officer and Jigawa State governor Malam Umar Namadi at the collation centre in Dutse.
The governor said that, the election was contested and the results were collated from twenty seven local government areas of Jigawa State.
He maintained that, the exercise was conducted peacefully and transparently adding that, the state has total of 330,327 registered members of APC, while a total of 206,520 voters accredited.
“The state has a total of 330,327 registered members and 206,520 voters were accredited and President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 206,520 votes while Mr Osifo Stanley scored Zero vote” he said.
Meanwhile, the Governor, after casting his vote declared that their promise to deliver over one million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 is irreversible and uncompromising.
He noted that the high turnout of party members during the primary election is clear testimony to the confidence and trust the people of Jigawa have in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“As you can see, the people have lined up in masses for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while nobody is on the side of his opponents. This is a testimony to how popular the President is in the minds of the people of Jigawa.”
“If you look at how the exercise is going on, you can believe me that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embodies democracy and believes in internal democracy as pivotal for national democratic survival, peace, and progress of the country,” Governor Namadi stated.
The Governor, however, reassured that the outcome of the presidential primary will also be enough to send a signal to opposition parties that the APC is on the path to clear victory at all levels in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
