A prominent Yobe politician, Hajiya Amina Amana, has endorsed the governorship ambition of Barrister Kashim Musa Tumsa (KMT), describing him as the candidate best positioned to deliver people-centred leadership in the state ahead of the 2027 election.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent during a visit to Gombe, Amina said Tumsa’s record of humanitarian service and community development, despite never holding a major public office, sets him apart from other aspirants.
She said the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant had consistently invested his personal resources in addressing the needs of communities across Yobe State, adding that his interventions had positively impacted thousands of residents.
According to her, Tumsa’s commitment to improving the lives of ordinary people makes him deserving of the APC governorship ticket.
“I am supporting him because I believe he has the capacity and compassion to transform Yobe. If he is elected governor, the people will experience meaningful development and responsive leadership,” she said.
Amina cited the construction of a bridge in a Fulani settlement in Fune Local Government Area as one of Tumsa’s landmark interventions.
She said the community had appealed for years for the construction of the bridge without success until Tumsa personally financed the project.
“During the rainy season, residents found it difficult to move from one place to another, while schoolchildren could not attend classes because there was no bridge. Although he held no government position, KMT stepped in and solved the problem with his personal resources,” she said.
She also said Tumsa had sponsored the education of many students by paying their school fees and facilitated the provision of solar-powered boreholes in Machina, Nguru, Karasuwa and several other communities to improve access to safe drinking water.
According to her, residents of Lailai community recently complained to Tumsa about persistent water scarcity during a meeting, after which he immediately approved the drilling of a borehole for the community.
Amina further said that, if elected governor in 2027, Tumsa would give priority to women and youths through empowerment programmes, vocational training, business support and other initiatives aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic growth.
She urged eligible voters across Yobe State to register for or update their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general election, stressing the importance of electing leaders with the vision and commitment to develop the state.
The politician expressed confidence in Tumsa’s leadership qualities, describing him as a compassionate and accessible leader who serves people regardless of their social or economic status.
She added that she would continue mobilising women and other supporters across the state to back his governorship aspiration ahead of the 2027 polls.
