The Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi has commended Blue Sapphire Hub for the advancement of digital transformation in Jigawa state.
The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for higher Education Professor ISAH Yusif Chamo, unveiled the hub at the newly established facility located behind the commissioner of Police residents in Dutse Jigawa state.
He explained that, the Blue Sapphire Hub marked a significant milestone with the official launch of its innovation and technology hub in Jigawa State
The Commissioner then, expressed the government’s willingness to collaborate in advancing digital transformation and human capital development.
While delivering her remarks, the founder of Blue Sapphire Hub Hajiya Maryam Lawan Gwadabe, who was represented by by Engr. Suleiman Sani, Member of the Executive Advisory Board, appreciated the support by the State government.
He highlighted the vision and mission of Blue Sapphire Hub, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Jigawa State through innovative programs and community-driven initiatives.
He further outlined the Hub’s ongoing interventions, including Women on Wednesday, 3MTT, Digital Community Champions, Digital Community Fair, and the Digital Access Program, all designed to expand digital inclusion and create opportunities for youth and women across the state.
Delivering the keynote on behalf of the Director-General of the Jigawa State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency, Engr. Umar Sulaiman Sabo described the launch as a bold step towards building a knowledge-driven economy.
According to him, the hub represents more than infrastructure, but a platform for innovation, collaboration, and economic growth.
He highlighted ongoing government initiatives such as the Jigawa Tech Talent Acquisition Programme, which is developing a pipeline of skilled youth in software development, networking, and digital design.
The Director General, noted that the hub will serve as a central point for the state’s growing tech ecosystem, providing access to co-working spaces, high-speed internet, mentorship, and investment opportunities.
He further called on development partners, private investors, and ecosystem players to collaborate in scaling innovation and creating sustainable economic impact in Jigawa State.
Meanwhile the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs Hajiya Hadiza Abdulwahab, emphasized the importance of girl-child education and reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower women and girls through digital skills and inclusive opportunities.
