The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Engr. Adamu Muhammad Ma’aji, popularly known as Dokajin Tula, has pledged to create greater opportunities for youths to participate meaningfully in leadership and the development of the state.

Dokajin Tula, who recently emerged as the SDP governorship candidate after leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said the future of Gombe largely depended on how much attention was given to its growing youth population.

His aide on Digital and Creative Media, Mujaheed Ahmad Maibali Bajoga, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Gombe.

Bajoga said Dokajin Tula considered youths a critical force in driving the social and economic development of the state, stressing the need to provide them with opportunities to acquire relevant skills, secure employment and become self-reliant.

He said the candidate was particularly concerned about creating sustainable opportunities that would improve the livelihoods of young people and their families.

According to him, empowering one young person could have a multiplier effect on an entire family and, ultimately, contribute to the development of the wider community.

“The youths of Gombe need opportunities, and Gombe needs people who will help them achieve their aspirations. The future of Gombe is in the hands of its youths,” Bajoga quoted Dokajin Tula as saying.

He said the candidate’s commitment to youth empowerment was beyond political rhetoric, describing it as part of his vision for a Gombe where young people would have a meaningful stake in governance and the state’s development.

Bajoga also urged stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at empowering youths, noting that their energy, skills and creativity were essential to building a stronger economy and a more prosperous Gombe State.
