A former Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Mohammed Ahmadu Jarman Deba, has congratulated Muslims across the world on the occasion of this year’s Maulid celebration, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Jarman Deba, who made the call while speaking in Gombe, urged Muslim youths, particularly men and women, to celebrate the occasion peacefully and in accordance with the law.
He also appealed to the people of Gombe Central Senatorial District to continue to support him in the forthcoming election, assuring them of his commitment to their development if given the opportunity to serve.
According to him, his administration, if entrusted with the mandate, would prioritise initiatives capable of improving the lives of the people and accelerating meaningful development across the senatorial district, Insha Allah.
As part of activities to mark the occasion, Jarman Deba distributed food items, including rice, spaghetti, macaroni and other relief materials to residents.
He said the gesture was made for the sake of Allah and as a way of honouring the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose birth is commemorated during the Maulid celebration.
He urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the teachings, character and exemplary life of the Prophet and promote peace, unity, love and peaceful coexistence in their communities.
Jarman Deba further prayed for peace, prosperity and success for the people of Gombe Central and Muslims across the world.
He wished the Muslim faithful a peaceful, blessed and spiritually rewarding Maulid celebration.
